Safe for use during pregnancy; SallyeAnder uses no essential oils in this oatmeal soap and therefore doesn't contain any that are not safe for use during pregnancy.
It even makes a great shampoo bar and can save you lots of money over buying shampoo that may have been heavily watered down! Simply apply the bar directly to your hair and rub against your hair in a circular motion to lather up. Scrub your hair as usual and rinse thoroughly. Follow with a hair conditioning mix of 1 part apple cider vinegar and 2 parts water in place of your old conditioner. Apply after washing and rinse thoroughly. Don't worry, your hair won't smell like vinegar! This helps remove build up from the hair shaft, tightens hair follicles, softens hair and detangles.
Gentle enough for use as a facial cleanser!

We started making soaps 28 years ago for our son Aaron Taylor. As a baby, he could not tolerate any of the bath products on the market. As a result, Gary decided to try making our own soap for him. Many recipes were still too harsh, so he developed his own process for a pure, natural and kind soap for him. The results were amazing! Over time we heard the same story again and again from others. Gary's soaps helped them as well. Our selection of products has grown out of a need to help those with specific problems. About the same time, we started selling our soaps at small craft venues and would sell out rapidly. Karen started home parties, where she heard many wonderful personal success stories. A few years later, we quit our day jobs and entered the gift market. We solidified our look and created beautiful graphics to match our philosophy. Since then business has doubled each year.
Through all this growth and success - WE HAVE NEVER CUT CORNERS WITH OUR RECIPES. Our soaps and cremes are hypo-allergenic and still created with only edible ingredients so they can be safely can used on newborns.
Our soaps are not created the same as other soaps, therefore their lather is different. We DO NOT add chemical lather enhancers. Instead, we recommend physically creating the lather - use a soft sponge or an ayate cloth for wonderful rich lather. Or just enjoy the natural creamy texture instead. Lather is not crucial for cleansing, it only means that the soap is dissolving rapidly.
We create all our soaps from scratch. We NEVER use manufactured soap pellets or chips!
Use soap savers with our soap. The use of these little vinyl wonders will double the life of a bar. Typically our 5 ounce bar on a saver will generally last 1-3 months, depending on type and usage.
There is no comparable soap to SallyeAnder, because no other company uses our recipes or quality ingredients. We are committed to quality - always have been - always will be.

- Coconut oil, palm kernel oil (they sound nice and are natural but when they are turned into soap can be disastrous for those with dermatitis).

- Olive and soy as our base (for over 28 years!). We use only edible ingredients in all of our products.
- The finest and purest TRUE essential oils (at the time of this writing, sandalwood is over $1,200/lb.)
- PEOPLE! Our products are handmade in small batches by our PROFESSIONAL SAPONIFISTS in Minetto, NY (a short drive from Lake Ontario) then our products are hand cut, hand wrapped, and hand labeled by our wonderful staff.
